If you’ve watched “Frankie Drake Mysteries” on CBC you know how delightful the characters of morgue attendant Flo Chakowitz and morality officer Mary Shaw are, especially when they team up to help Frankie solve crimes in 1920s Toronto.

The pair are getting their own animated series from Shaftesbury, the production company behind “Frankie Drake” and “Murdoch Mysteries.”

Rebecca Liddiard (Mary) and Sharron Matthews (Flo) will reprise their roles in “Mary and Flo: On the Go!” in which their animated avatars travel the world encountering famous women and men of the 1920s. They co-created the show with Carmen Albano (“Detention Adventure”).

It’s one of four series green-lighted by Shaftesbury Kids, including a live-action spinoff of the comedy “Life With Derek” called “Life With Luca,” from Daphne Ballon and Jeff Biederman of “Derek.”
Also on the slate are “Miikshi,” from Lindsay and Justin Lee, a live-action puppet series about a female sheep scientist who is saving the world; and “Stinky Science,” which explores the science behind why things smell with characters from the books by Edward Kay, illustrated by Mike Shiell.

Shaftesbury’s full library of new and legacy children’s programming is on the Shaftesbury Kids YouTube channel.
